What makes closed cell foam so incredible is that it it rated at an R-6.7 per inch thick.  This allows for minimal thicknesses when it matters but gives the ability to achieve the desired R-values.  This becomes especially important in remodels where the homeowner would like to vault the ceilings for an open look to the room.  In Kansas City our codes call for an R-30 in these areas against the roof deck, unless it is insulated with closed cell foam, where code allows us to spray 3", requiring no need to fur down the joists making a 10" cavity.


In wall systems, closed cell foam will meet code with only 2" of material.  At this depth it is also over 94% efficient at stopping heat loss in or out.  This makes it a great option for homes in Kansas City that are framed with 2x4 studs.

The first thing you should do when hiring a contractor is ask for a certificate of insurance, or COI.  This document will have your name on it as additionally insured, under the companies policy while they are on the job.  If this certificate can not be produced do not hire them.  


When we are on the job, our insurance covers anything and everything that can happen, and you are protected as well as we are.  Also ask for workers comp certificates to protect yourself also.
