Closed Cell Foam

Closed Cell Spray Foam

Do you need the highest R-values available?

What makes closed cell foam so incredible is that it it rated at an R-6.7 per inch thick.  This allows for minimal thicknesses when it matters but gives the ability to achieve the desired R-values.  This becomes especially important in remodels where the homeowner would like to vault the ceilings for an open look to the room.  In Kansas City our codes call for an R-30 in these areas against the roof deck, unless it is insulated with closed cell foam, where code allows us to spray 3", requiring no need to fur down the joists making a 10" cavity.

In wall systems, closed cell foam will meet code with only 2" of material.  At this depth it is also over 94% efficient at stopping heat loss in or out.  This makes it a great option for homes in Kansas City that are framed with 2x4 studs.

We have even had the opportunity to apply closed cell foam to the walls and floor of a Shipping Container Pool built by a company in KC.  Closed cell spray foam is as universal as you could imagine it to be!

Closed cell foam strengthens buildings!

A little known, but extraordinary quality of closed cell foam is that it has structural characteristics.  2' of closed cell foam can increase the racking value of a wall assembly by up to 300%!  This is because closed cell has a density rating of 2 pound per cubic foot.  When sprayed to a wood or metal surface it adds to the strength of it.  And when sprayed to a metal roof deck on a barn or shop it helps to avoid hail damage due to the metal having a solid backing.

Why Hire Spray on Systems LLC?

Professional and Honest

Spray foam is the most expensive insulation option you can choose for your project.  There are more than a few contractors in the Kansas City area that prey on customers by spraying the foam just shy of what they quoted.  These companies are usually the "cheapest bid" and on the quote there will usually be wording like "nominal" or "average" thickness.

Our estimates all read Minimun Thickness.  If you are spending thousands of dollars to insulate your building with the best product possible you should get every bit of insulation that you pay for.  We guarantee our thicknesses on every job.

Never pay until the job is finished.

As an owner what is my biggest fear?  Being on Fox4 problem solvers for taking money up front and having an emergency happen that doesn't allow us to complete the job in a timely manner.

In general, as a customer if you have to pay a deposit to a contractor then that is a red flag.  Even the larger jobs we do only last a few day, if a company can't control thier budget good enough to do a three day job without being paid half up front I would never hire them, and either should you.

We is closed cell spray foam so popular in barns in the Kansas City area?

Closed cell spray foam insulation is a popular choice for barns and metal buildings. It is a type of insulation that is applied by spraying a liquid mixture of polyurethane foam onto a surface. The foam expands and hardens into a solid, providing a layer of insulation that seals the building against air leaks, moisture infiltration, and heat loss.

The benefits of closed cell spray foam insulation for barns and metal buildings are many. Here are some of the key advantages:

1. Energy Efficiency: Closed cell spray foam insulation provides an excellent barrier to heat, helping to keep the building comfortable and reducing the amount of energy needed to heat or cool the space. This can result in significant cost savings on utility bills over time.

2. Moisture Control: Because closed cell spray foam insulation creates a tight seal, it helps to prevent moisture from entering the building. This can reduce the risk of mold, mildew, and other moisture-related problems that can damage the building and its contents over time.

3. Noise Reduction: Closed cell spray foam insulation can also help to reduce noise transmission, making the building more comfortable for occupants and reducing the impact of nearby noise sources.

4. Durability: Closed cell spray foam insulation is highly durable and can last for many years without needing to be replaced or repaired. This makes it a cost-effective choice in the long run.

5. Easy Installation: Closed cell spray foam insulation is relatively easy to install, and can be applied quickly and efficiently by a professional insulation contractor. This can help to minimize disruption to operations in the building.

Overall, closed cell spray foam insulation is an excellent choice for barns and metal buildings. Its energy efficiency, moisture control, noise reduction, durability, and ease of installation make it a smart investment for any building owner. If you're considering insulation options for your barn or metal building, be sure to consider closed cell spray foam insulation as a top choice.
